What is solid wood flooring?
Each board is milled from a single piece of timber, the same oak from surface to subfloor. It is the traditional hardwood floor with the deepest sanding reserve of any floor type.
Can I use solid wood with underfloor heating?
It is generally not recommended: heating cycles make single-piece timber move, cup and gap. If you love oak over UFH, engineered wood is the version built for it.
How many times can solid wood be sanded?
Many times over its life, typically every 10 to 20 years as wear requires. A quality solid floor can outlast the building it is fitted in.
Which rooms suit solid wood?
Living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways. Avoid bathrooms and be cautious in kitchens: humidity swings are solid timber’s main enemy.
