Windsor Narrow Brushed Solid Oak Wood Flooring 18 x 90 (mm)

Solid oak is oak from the surface to the subfloor: it can be sanded and refinished for as long as the tongue holds, and it moves with humidity more than an engineered board, so the subfloor must be dry and the boards acclimatised before laying. The brushed, oiled surface hides fine scratches and is re-oiled locally where it wears. Tongue and groove, micro-bevelled, not listed as compatible with underfloor heating; a box covers 1.08 square metres, and the manufacturer's warranty is 20 years.

The Windsor Narrow Smooth is the same board with a smooth UV lacquer for a cleaner look; the Windsor Solid Brushed at 125 mm and 150 mm gives the same surface in wider planks. For a heated room, the engineered Ascot Brushed UV Oiled Oak carries the same idea on a core that stays flat.
