Hand scraping hides small marks in its undulation, the lacquer wipes clean, and the solid oak beneath can be sanded and refinished for decades. Solid oak moves with humidity, so the subfloor must be dry and the boards acclimatised before laying; the board is tongue and groove with a micro-bevel and not listed as compatible with underfloor heating. Each box covers 1.2 square metres, and the manufacturer's warranty is 20 years.
