Do dark floors make a room look smaller?
Only in very low light. With pale walls and decent daylight, dark floors add depth and read as luxurious rather than heavy, which is why they anchor so many high-end schemes. Test the effect at home before committing: order a £1.99 sample and lay it against your skirting. You can also compare lighter tones in the full engineered wood collection.
Are dark wood floors hard to keep clean?
They show dust more readily than mid-tones, that part of the reputation is true. Choose a brushed or matt surface and the texture will hide most of it between cleans; avoid high sheen, which highlights every mark.
