Why Richmond outsells everything else we stock
Richmond is the widest board in the range at 240mm, and width is what people are really buying. A 2200mm board in a 240mm width means fewer joints across a room, and fewer joints is what makes a floor read as one surface rather than a set of planks.
Underneath the look sits the specification that keeps it out of trouble: a 6mm oak wear layer on an engineered core. That is twice the wear layer of a typical 14mm board, which is why the same product goes into pubs, bars and shops as well as houses.
Fitter’s note: Run the boards towards the main light source and along the longest wall. On a 240mm board the joints are far enough apart that the room reads longer for it.
