What is laminate flooring?
A high-resolution wood design sealed under an extremely tough overlay on an HDF core. Modern boards emboss real texture into the surface for a convincing wood effect.
Can laminate go in kitchens or bathrooms?
Kitchens yes, with prompt mopping habits or a water-resistant rated board. For bathrooms we recommend LVT instead: it is fully waterproof, laminate is not.
Does laminate work with underfloor heating?
Yes, when the board is explicitly UFH-rated. Pair it with a low-tog underlay made for underfloor heating so the warmth reaches the room.
How long does laminate last?
Typically 10 to 15 years in a busy home. It cannot be sanded or refinished, so when the surface is worn the boards are replaced.
