Brushed and matt lacquered is the practical surface for a dark solid board: the texture hides dust and fine scratches, the matt film avoids reflections, and the lacquer wipes clean. When it has worn, the floor is refinished as a whole, which solid oak allows repeatedly. Dry subfloor and acclimatisation first. Tongue and groove, micro-bevelled, not listed as compatible with underfloor heating; a box covers 1.44 square metres, and the manufacturer's warranty is 20 years.
