Windsor Narrow Smooth Solid Oak Wood Flooring 18 x 90 (mm)

A smooth lacquer is the hardest wearing surface against abrasion and the one that shows fine scratches most, so it belongs in living rooms and bedrooms rather than at the front door; it is wiped clean and refinished as a whole floor, which solid oak allows many times over. The board is tongue and groove, micro-bevelled, not listed as compatible with underfloor heating, and a box covers 1.08 square metres. Manufacturer's warranty: 20 years.

The Windsor Narrow Brushed is the same strip with a brushed, oiled surface for busier rooms; the Windsor Solid Smooth boards at 125 mm and 150 mm are the same surface in wider planks. The subfloor moisture check and acclimatisation matter more for solid oak than for any other floor in the range.
