Your Flooring Specialist Across Greater Manchester

Eight boroughs share this page, and the distance between them is wider than in any northern region we cover. Owner-occupation runs from a minority position in the inner boroughs to a comfortable majority out at the southern edge, and flats climb from a slim presence in the mill towns to a third of everything inside the city. One specification cannot cover both ends.

Three subfloors recur across the conurbation. Mill-town terraces carry suspended timber over a void – boards that want fixing down and flattening before a rigid plank sits on them. Purpose-built flats stand on concrete separating floors, and the lease usually specifies the impact sound layer that goes under a hard finish. The regeneration phases are screed, often heated.

Common questions

Flooring in Greater Manchester, FAQs

Do you deliver flooring across Greater Manchester?
Yes. Deliveries run across the M, BL, OL, SK and WN postcodes, taking in the mill boroughs to the north, the city and the quays at the centre, and the semi-detached suburbs to the south. Kerbside delivery reaches terraced streets, leasehold blocks and new estates alike. Flag upper-floor access when you order.
Which flooring is most popular in Greater Manchester?
Click-lock LVT takes the largest volume, because it adds little height over a levelled timber base and shrugs off the traffic a shared hallway carries. Over heated screed in the newer city phases, choose engineered wood instead: solid boards move too much above a heat source. In leasehold blocks the acoustic layer comes first.
Can I order flooring samples in Greater Manchester?
Yes, on any range. Over a mill-town terrace, judge the deck before the sample: boards that have shifted for decades above a void or a cellar want screwing down and levelling first, and how flat they finish decides which samples stay open to you. The more rigid the board, the flatter the base it needs.
