Night Lux Matt is the dark tile of the marble-effect group: a 600 mm by 1200 mm porcelain, 9 mm thick, with a matt surface, made in Spain, listed for floors and walls. As the name suggests it follows a dark, veined stone, and the matt finish keeps it from turning into a mirror, so it works on a floor as well as a wall.

A dark matt porcelain hides footprints and water spots that a dark polished tile shows, and is the usual choice for a floor that is often wet. Water absorption is listed below 0.50 per cent, the tile is frost resistant, and it is listed as compatible with underfloor heating. A box holds 2 tiles and covers 1.44 square metres.

It is chosen for a bathroom with pale walls, a hallway floor or a kitchen splashback. Luna Blanca Matt is the white matt marble in the same format; Taj Mahal Cappuccino the warm banded stone; the BML Black Slate rigid vinyl tile the dark floor for a room that wants a warmer surface underfoot.
