Your Flooring Specialist Across Tyne and Wear

A region where the terrace can be two homes rather than one. The Tyneside flat – a building with two doors at street level, one into the lower home, one into the stair above – runs through several of the towns here, and it changes the first question of any flooring job. Council and housing-association tenancies also outweigh private lets across all four boroughs.

Two building forms carry the work. In an upper Tyneside flat the floor you are laying is the neighbour's ceiling, so the acoustic layer is settled first; in the lower one it is boards over an open void where airflow matters. Away from the river, semis and terraces put timber above a plastered ceiling, and what lies under the ground floor turns on its decade.

Common questions

Flooring in Tyne and Wear, FAQs

Do you deliver flooring across Tyne and Wear?
Both banks and the coast are covered: the NE and SR postcodes take in the western boroughs, the city, the riverside towns and the seaside wards, and every one of them is on the standard delivery list. If the address is an upper Tyneside flat, say so at checkout – the stair is narrow.
Which flooring is most popular in Tyne and Wear?
Durability decides it here, so the recommendation is a laminate with a high abrasion rating or an LVT with a thicker wear layer. Much of the stock changes hands on a void-period timetable, and the floor has to go down quickly and lift in sections. Engineered wood makes better sense in an owner-occupied semi.
Can I order flooring samples in Tyne and Wear?
Samples can be ordered for any range in stock. In a flat with a dwelling underneath, use the sample visit to settle the acoustic build-up as well: the board thickness is decided after the resilient layer, not before, and a sample held in the hand will not tell you that.
