County-wide delivery

Your Flooring Specialist Across Essex

Seven towns, and the county reads differently at each end. At the estuary, large old houses cut into separate homes push the flat share past a third and private renting to the heaviest here. Inland, in Chelmsford and Colchester, detached houses reach near a third of the stock and are bought on a long horizon. Terraces and social tenancies fill the towns between.

Terraces lead the built stock in Basildon and Harlow, both with heavy social renting: one specification gets repeated across many homes, and a single room has to be patched without an obvious join. In Harlow and at the estuary, flats reach a quarter and beyond, and there the lease rather than the look sets the terms, asking a minimum impact rating of any hard covering.

Common questions

Flooring in Essex, FAQs

Do you deliver flooring across Essex?
Yes, from the estuary inland: the SS districts through Southend, Basildon and Pitsea, CM across Chelmsford, Brentwood, Braintree and Harlow, and CO1 to CO4 around Colchester. Villages on those routes – West Horndon, Doddinghurst, Great Notley, Marks Tey and Layer – are served exactly as the towns are.
Which flooring is most popular in Essex?
For a converted flat or a house that changes tenants, a rigid-core LVT is our recommendation: it lifts and relays without harming the deck beneath, and it takes a rated mat under it. In the detached houses, an engineered board is worth costing – it crosses a slab and a timber floor in one run.
Can I order flooring samples in Essex?
Yes, and there is a right place to hold one: the doorway where the original room meets whatever was built on behind it. If the sample looks wrong at that junction it will look wrong laid. Order more than one shade – daylight off the water is not the daylight of an inland estate.
