Your Flooring Specialist Across Bedfordshire

Four dwellings in five across these three towns are houses; flats run from an eighth of the stock to a quarter. Ownership is highest around Dunstable, where private renting is the thinnest we serve, and lowest in Luton, which lost more than six points of owner-occupation in a decade while renting climbed. Bedford, between them, keeps the region's only park homes.

Most jobs here come with a party wall on one side or both: the semi leads in Bedford and in Luton alike, detached estates second in the one and terraces in the other. Flats sit near a fifth in each of those towns, purpose-built where Luton counts them, so a hard covering has somebody's ceiling under it or a neighbour's room beside it.

Delivery and local detail across Bedfordshire

Across Bedfordshire we deliver to LU1, LU2, LU3, LU4, LU5, LU6, MK40, MK41 and MK42, covering 3 towns.

At the 2021 census, the share of households in a terraced house ranged from 19.9% in Bedford to 23.4% in Central Bedfordshire; the share living in a flat, maisonette or apartment ranged from 12.1% in Central Bedfordshire to 24.7% in Luton; home ownership ranged from 53.9% in Luton to 71.2% in Central Bedfordshire.

ONS, Census 2021, by local authority: Bedford (E06000055), Central Bedfordshire (E06000056), Luton (E06000032) · Postcode districts: postcodes.io

Common questions

Flooring in Bedfordshire, FAQs

Do you deliver flooring across Bedfordshire?
Yes – both halves of the LU group, LU1 to LU4 in one town and LU5 and LU6 in the next, though they answer to different councils; plus MK40, MK41 and MK42 around Bedford and Kempston. Caddington, Eaton Bray, Biddenham and Great Denham are on the same routes.
Which flooring is most popular in Bedfordshire?
Most of what we fit here is a semi, the commonest form in Bedford and Luton, so we usually recommend an engineered board floated over a rated resilient layer; it suits the flats near a fifth of both towns. Around Dunstable, in a market of owners, a thicker oak top layer earns its price.
Can I order flooring samples in Bedfordshire?
Samples go out on request – order a few and test them the way the house will. An owner should stand the board where the sun lands longest and live with the colour for a day. A landlord should drag a key across a corner and see what the wear layer gives back.
