Not every Aldershot tenancy has a private landlord. Social renting covers roughly one Rushmoor household in six, and has held there for a decade. So a GU11 or GU12 floor is sometimes bought by the tenant rather than the landlord, and has to come up undamaged at the end of the let.
Semis lead the Rushmoor stock, with terraces and purpose-built flats behind them across GU11 and GU12. Private renting has climbed since the previous census while ownership slipped, so a good share of Aldershot floors are ordered by a landlord between lets rather than by the people who will live on them.
About a fifth of households here rent privately, and that share sets the brief: LVT and a higher AC-rated laminate take a change of tenant without needing a refinish. Buying for your own house in Rowhill or Wellington, the sum works the other way and oak earns its keep.
In the semis and terraces bought by the people living in them, engineered oak repays its price, since the floor stays down for years and can be refinished.
Shop rangePurpose-built flats make up a fair slice of Rushmoor stock, and click-lock LVT sits thin enough for existing thresholds while wiping clean at the end of a tenancy.
Shop rangeFor a GU12 let between tenants, a higher AC-rated laminate does more per pound than oak, which is why it keeps its place on this page.
Shop rangeAldershot sits in Rushmoor borough, and we deliver to GU11 and GU12 — Aldershot Park, Manor Park, North Town, Rowhill and across to Ash Vale and Ash Wharf. Rushmoor's tenure profile is unusual for Hampshire: at the 2021 census 21.5% of households rented privately, up 3.9 points on 2011, while ownership fell to 60.5%. A fifth of the local market is therefore a landlord deciding between voids and durability, and that changes what sells. For a rental turnaround, LVT and a good AC-rated laminate do more per pound than engineered oak, because the floor has to survive tenants rather than impress guests. For your own home the calculation reverses.
At the 2021 census, 27.5% of households in Rushmoor lived in a flat, maisonette or apartment and 72.1% in a house or bungalow — 23.5% of all households in a terraced house.
