Browse CollectionsSPC rigid vinyl is built around a Stone Polymer Composite core: an ultra-dense, waterproof centre that makes each board rigid, stable and remarkably tough. It clicks together over almost any subfloor and hides minor imperfections underneath.
Terraces set the pattern in Blackburn, and with a large rented share the deciding question is cost per year rather than the option to refinish. LVT answers it, and a hard-wearing laminate answers it for less; solid oak is the harder case to make here.
It stands up to water, dents and temperature swings, and installs quickly for a flawless, hard-wearing finish in the busiest rooms. A boarded ground floor over a ventilated void is the coldest surface in a Mill Hill terrace, and it moves a little with each heating season. Underlay and a vapour barrier settle both comfort and fit before the covering is chosen at all.
Terraced housing accounts for more of the stock than any other type across BB1 and BB2, from Blackburn Central through Bastwell and Daisyfield to Ewood. Ownership fell over the last decade while private renting rose, and with social housing on top nearly two in five homes are rented. Within that mix, spc rigid vinyl flooring earns its place above all in kitchens, bathrooms, hallways and busy family spaces.
From the orders we deliver across Blackburn, this is where each floor tends to go:
Kitchens: A Blackburn kitchen fitted for a tenancy and a Blackburn kitchen fitted for the family cooking in it are not the same order, though the room may be identical. SPC takes trolley wheels and dropped pans without marking, and it costs less to make good than a timber floor.
Where durability decides the order: Ownership across Blackburn with Darwen has fallen faster than the national pattern while both private and social renting have climbed, so a large share of orders are placed by somebody who will not be living on the floor. That puts LVT and a tougher laminate ahead of timber.
A terrace the owners keep: Terraced houses make up more of Blackburn than any other kind of home, and where the household owns the house it lives in the sum runs the other way. A levelled ground floor in Billinge and Beardwood will carry engineered oak, which is a different conversation from a relet.
Halls in Audley and Queen’s Park: In the Blackburn Central terraces the hall is the strip every other room is reached through, and what walks in from the street is abrasive. A dense laminate keeps its printed surface under that traffic where a thin board greys out along the middle of the run.
We deliver across Blackburn and Lancashire (BB postcodes) from our UK warehouse. Most in-stock orders arrive within a timeframe that depends on the delivery postcode.
Orders for spc rigid vinyl flooring head out to Darwen, Mill Hill and Wilpshire and the BB postcode area, and everywhere in between. Not sure which finish suits your light and layout? Order two or three samples to your Blackburn address, from £1.99, and compare them at home before you commit.
