Walnut is softer than oak and lightens rather than darkens with daylight, so felt pads under furniture and rugs that move in the first year are part of owning it. The smooth lacquer shows the figure and shows fine scratches; it is wiped clean and refinished as a whole floor when it has worn. Tongue and groove, micro-bevelled, listed as compatible with underfloor heating; a box of six boards covers 2.166 square metres, and the manufacturer's warranty is 15 years.
