Browse CollectionsPet-friendly flooring stands up to claws, accidents and muddy paws without showing every mark. Scratch-resistant LVT, rigid SPC and tough laminate give you a hard-wearing, waterproof surface that still looks smart in a busy household.
Consistency helps here: a floor specified for one AL7 terrace usually transfers to the next. LVT Vinyl Click-Lock suits those solid ground floors and the volume of homes that a landlord fits out, while engineered oak tends to go where the house is owned and staying that way.
A durable wear layer shrugs off scratches, a waterproof core handles the odd accident, and a quick wipe keeps everything clean, ideal for homes with dogs and cats. A concrete ground floor does not move with the seasons; it takes the temperature of the earth beneath it and gives heat back slowly, which makes it the coldest surface in an inter-war AL8 house. What you choose is the insulating value of the build-up.
Founded in nineteen-twenty and built to a plan, Welwyn Garden City is more uniform than most places we deliver to. Terraces come first, then semis, then blocks of flats, and the stock is largely inter-war and post-war on solid ground floors, with social renting running high for Hertfordshire. Within that mix, pet-friendly flooring earns its place above all in kitchens, hallways, living rooms and utility rooms.
Every home is different, but clear patterns run through the Welwyn Garden City projects we supply:
Homes let by a social landlord: Letting by social landlords is unusually common here for a Hertfordshire district, and because the town was laid out to a plan those homes echo one another: same layout, same base, same doorways. One laminate specification covers a great many, and spare stock covers the repairs.
Terraced ground floors in Peartree and Haldens: Terraced housing is the commonest type in the town, and unlike older terraces elsewhere these sit on solid ground instead of joists over a void. Levelling drops out of the job and a moisture reading takes its place, which is what SPC wants in any case.
Living rooms in Handside and Hollybush: Owner-occupation is still the largest tenure even at a level low for the South East, and where a family has stayed put the floor is chosen once. Engineered oak repays that, since the timber above the tongue can be worked on in place rather than thrown out.
Purpose-built flats: Flats account for a large slice of the housing here, most of them purpose-built. On a concrete floor in a block, what settles how the home below sounds is the mat between slab and covering rather than the LVT above it, and that is the item quotes drop.
We deliver across Welwyn Garden City and Hertfordshire (AL postcodes) from our UK warehouse. Most in-stock orders arrive within a timeframe that depends on the delivery postcode.
Customers order our pet-friendly flooring from Hatfield, Panshanger, Haldens and Peartree and the AL postcode area. Not sure which finish suits your light and layout? Order two or three samples to your Welwyn Garden City address, from £1.99, and compare them at home before you commit.
