Browse CollectionsLuxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) is water-resistant right through the plank, warm underfoot and exceptionally hard-wearing. Modern LVT convincingly mimics real wood or stone while shrugging off spills, scratches and heavy footfall, and it is quiet and comfortable to walk on.
Private renting takes roughly one household in five across Rushmoor, and the newer flats add a second constraint on top of that: the lease. In a flat the acoustic underlay is settled before the surface, and LVT Vinyl Click-Lock sits on one without adding height.
It is the smart choice wherever moisture and traffic are a factor, and clicks together quickly for a clean, seamless finish. A screed poured recently is still giving up water, and much of what stands on the former airfield land is recent. Take a reading before anything goes down; where the heating sits in the slab, the board has to be rated for a warm base too.
What has changed in Farnborough is the volume of apartment building: the town centre and the former airfield land have added purpose-built flats to a stock that was already semis and terraces through Empress, Fernhill and Knellwood. Where the home is leasehold, the lease sets the impact sound requirement. For exactly these properties, lvt vinyl flooring comes into its own in kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and busy family spaces.
From the orders we deliver across Farnborough, this is where each floor tends to go:
New apartments in GU14: Much of what has gone up in Farnborough lately is apartments, on the town centre land and the former airfield. In a flat the lease normally sets an impact sound requirement, so the acoustic layer under LVT gets chosen before the board that sits on it.
Flat kitchens: An apartment kitchen answers to the same lease clause as the living room, which rules out dropping a hard floor straight onto the screed. SPC over an acoustic mat keeps the build-up shallow enough that the door still swings clear of the finished level.
Houses in Cove and Southwood: Step away from the new blocks and Farnborough is ordinary family housing — Cove and Southwood, Cherrywood, Fernhill — where no lease has a view on the floor. A living room there can take engineered oak chosen for how it looks rather than for what it muffles.
Bathrooms in upper-floor flats: In Farnborough’s newer blocks, water that gets past a bathroom floor arrives in somebody else’s ceiling. SPC takes up no water itself, but an open joint or a loose threshold still passes it down to the screed, so the perimeter detail decides the outcome.
LVT Vinyl Click-Lock · It can go straight onto a rated acoustic underlay, and the combined build-up stays low, which is what makes it workable in the flats on the airfield land.
