One home in two in Rotherham is semi-detached, reaching from Brinsworth and Greasbrough out to Bramley, Ravenfield, Dinnington and Rawmarsh. In houses of that plan the kitchen is fitted, the units are screwed to the wall, and the floor has to decide whether to go under them or stop at them.
Rotherham’s housing stock is dominated by Victorian and Edwardian terraces near the town centre, interwar semis, and comfortable suburban family homes in sought-after Wickersley and Whiston. A practical, industrial South Yorkshire town on the Don, it attracts value-conscious buyers seeking solid, well-built homes with strong space for the money.
Laminate and LVT are the go-to choices across Rotherham’s terraced and suburban homes, affordable, scratch-resistant and simple to maintain for busy families. Wood-effect finishes add warmth to living rooms and hallways, while waterproof LVT handles kitchens and utility spaces in these practical, hard-working South Yorkshire households.
Affordable, hard-wearing flooring perfect for Rotherham’s family terraces and semis.

Shop rangeAlmost half the homes in this metropolitan district, 49.2%, are semi-detached, and 89.7% of dwellings are houses rather than flats. S60, S61, S62, S65 and S95 take in Boston Castle, Greasbrough, Brinsworth, Rawmarsh East, Rawmarsh West and Dalton & Thrybergh. Inside a house the hall, stairs and landing absorb several times the traffic of any bedroom, and grit walked in from the front door does most of the damage. A barrier mat recessed at the entrance, plus a tougher specification for the hall than for the rooms above it, puts the money where the wear actually is; one grade throughout means replacing everything when only the hall has gone.
At the 2021 census, 10.3% of households in Rotherham lived in a flat, maisonette or apartment and 89.7% in a house or bungalow — 18.2% of all households in a terraced house.
