Your Flooring Specialist Across West Midlands

Seven councils share this round, and much of the housing they cover went up between the wars or in the rebuilding that followed. Tenure is where they part company: just over half of homes are owned in the city and in the borough to its west, against nearly three-quarters in the one to its south-east. One council lies outside the conurbation altogether.

These are houses that have been altered repeatedly. A wall taken out and the screed patched where it stood; a kitchen extended, so that boards at the front meet a solid floor at the back; layers of old adhesive from coverings before this one. In borough after borough, what lies under a new floor is a sequence of earlier decisions.

Common questions

Flooring in West Midlands, FAQs

Do you deliver flooring across West Midlands?
Yes. B, CV, DY, WS and WV are all on the round: Bilston and Blakenhall, Palfrey and Pleck, Netherton and Quarry Bank, Knowle and Dorridge, Four Oaks and Little Aston, Earlsdon and Far Gosford Street. Both cities have conservation areas, the Jewellery Quarter and Bournville among them, where original boards are protected.
Which flooring is most popular in West Midlands?
LVT is the usual answer across these boroughs, and it is also the covering least forgiving of what lies beneath it: bonded and thin, it copies every patch, adhesive ridge and change of base underneath. Specify it with a smoothing layer over the whole floor, not just over the part that was repaired.
Can I order flooring samples in West Midlands?
Yes, and they do not have to go to the property. A good share of the orders here are written by landlords and agents rather than by whoever will live with the floor, so send the samples to the office address and keep the property for the fitting.
