Product details

Victorian Antique Light Brown Oak carries the aged, deep brushed surface of the antique range in the warmest of its tones. It is engineered European oak, 14 mm thick, 190 mm wide and 1900 mm long, Antique Effect grade, finished with hard wax oil, with a 3 mm oak wear layer over the engineered core.

Read the full description

The light brown colour reads as oak that has seen decades of daylight rather than as a stain.

The hard wax oil settles into the brushed grain, so scuffs sit in the texture instead of on a film, and a worn area can be re-oiled on its own without sanding the whole floor. The board is tongue and groove with a micro-bevelled edge, listed as compatible with underfloor heating, and a box of eight boards covers 2.888 square metres; the manufacturer's warranty is 15 years.

It suits living rooms and dining rooms in period houses, and any scheme with warm whites and natural fabrics. The Distressed board in the same format adds tool marks to the same aged look; the Golden Brown board at 220 mm wide is the next step towards a honeyed tone; the Dark board is the next step towards depth.

Specification, in plain words

Questions about this floor

Can Victorian Antique Light Brown Oak Flooring 14 x 190 x 1900 be used with underfloor heating?
Yes — the specification for this floor records underfloor heating as Compatible. Check the maximum surface temperature your system runs at before ordering, and follow the manufacturer's commissioning sequence for the first heating cycle.
What size are the boards?
Each board or tile measures 14mm x 190mm x 1900mm. The edge detail is Micro-bevelled, which is what you see where two boards meet. Measure the room and add a waste allowance before ordering — your fitter will give you the figure for your room shape.
How long will the surface last?
The wear layer on this floor is 3mm. On a timber floor that figure decides how many times it can be sanded back and refinished; on a vinyl floor it is the clear film over the printed design and decides how long the pattern survives traffic. It is the number worth comparing between ranges.
How much does one box cover?
One box covers 2.888 Square Metres. Work out your room area first, then add the waste allowance, and order in whole boxes — a part box cannot be ordered and a short delivery stops a fit.
What warranty does it carry?
This floor carries a 15 Years. A warranty rests on the floor being laid and looked after as the manufacturer specifies, so keep the fitting notes and the subfloor readings with your paperwork.
Can I see it before I order?
Order a cut sample for £1.99 and look at it in the room it is for, at the hour you actually use that room. Grain and tone shift under artificial light, and no photograph carries that.
