The smoked grey colour reads deeper and more even than the washed greys, and the Rustic grade lets knots and colour play show through it.

Hard wax oil in a brushed grain is the most forgiving surface in the range for a busy room: marks sit in the texture, and a worn strip in a hallway is re-oiled on its own with the manufacturer's maintenance oil. The narrow board and the random lengths give a traditional strip floor that suits period houses. Tongue and groove, micro-bevelled, listed as compatible with underfloor heating; a box covers 1.8 square metres, and the manufacturer's warranty is 15 years.
