Laminate is water-resistant but not fully waterproof. It works well in kitchens when spills are wiped up promptly, but for areas with regular standing water risk — around sinks or dishwashers — luxury rigid vinyl is a more practical long-term choice. We can advise on the best option if you are not sure.

Grey has been a consistently strong seller for over a decade and shows no sign of fading. Warmer greige and driftwood tones in particular have strong long-term appeal — they read as natural and neutral rather than trend-driven, so they age well alongside changing decor.

For most residential rooms, 8mm is the practical minimum. 10–12mm laminate offers a noticeably more solid underfoot feel, better sound absorption and improved acoustic performance — especially on upper floors or in open-plan spaces. The quality of the acoustic underlay makes a significant difference too.
