Ascot Lacquered Oak is the plainest board in the Ascot range and, for many rooms, the right one: engineered European oak, 14 mm thick, 125 mm wide in random lengths from 300 mm to 1200 mm, natural oak colour, Rustic grade, smooth and UV lacquered, with a 3 mm wear layer. Nothing is added to the colour and nothing is brushed out of the surface.

A smooth UV lacquer is the hardest wearing surface in the range against abrasion and the one that shows fine scratches most readily, so it belongs in living rooms and bedrooms rather than at the front door. It is wiped clean and, when the film eventually wears, refinished as a whole floor. Tongue and groove, micro-bevelled, listed as compatible with underfloor heating; each box covers 1.8 square metres, and the manufacturer's warranty is 15 years.

The same board with a brushed surface is the Ascot Natural Brushed Oak; the same board with an oiled surface is the Ascot Brushed UV Oiled Oak. At 150 mm wide, the Cobham Natural Oak UV Lacquered board is the smooth, lacquered natural oak in the next width up.
