The colour sits at the dark end of the range, and the distressing, worked edges and surface marks are part of the board rather than a fault to look for.

Because the surface is deep brushed and oiled, the floor is looked after locally: a worn patch in a doorway is cleaned, lightly abraded and re-oiled with the manufacturer's maintenance oil, and the repair joins the pattern of marks the board already carries. The wear layer is 3 mm, the board is tongue and groove with a micro-bevelled edge, listed as compatible with underfloor heating, and each box of eight boards covers 2.888 square metres. The manufacturer's warranty is 15 years.

It belongs in a period hallway, a farmhouse kitchen or a room where a smooth, uniform floor would look too new.
