Chevron boards meet end to end on a continuous line, so the floor reads as a run of V shapes that points the eye down the room.

The brushed, matt lacquered surface hides fine scratches in its texture, wipes clean and is refinished as a whole floor when the film has worn. Chevron is the less forgiving pattern to lay, because any drift in the set-out shows along the continuous line; a fitter who has laid it before is the useful specification. Tongue and groove, micro-bevelled, listed as compatible with underfloor heating; a box of 16 boards covers 0.734 square metres, and the manufacturer's warranty is 15 years.

The Knightsbridge Chevron Raw Oak is the same board in a paler tone with an invisible UV oil. For the same warm oak in the busier herringbone pattern, the Oxford Natural Brushed blocks; for a chevron in a wet room, the rigid vinyl range has herringbone but no chevron.
