BML Poplar Wide is a wide plank in rigid vinyl that follows poplar, a pale, even timber with little figure: 6.5 mm thick, 228 mm by 1524 mm, textured surface, micro-bevelled edges, click-fitted. The colour is listed as light oak, and the plainness of the grain is the point: a quiet, wide, light floor.

It is the floor for a room where the walls or the furniture are the subject, and because the plank itself is waterproof the same quiet floor runs on through the kitchen. The board carries a 0.55 mm wear layer and its own underlay, clicks together without glue, and wants a flat, dry subfloor under it. Commercial grade and listed as compatible with underfloor heating; each box of 5 boards covers 1.74 square metres; the manufacturer's warranty is 25 years.
