BML

BML is the name on the rigid-core SPC flooring in this catalogue. We publish no company history for it, because we have not verified one — what follows is about the product, which we can describe from its specification.

What to look at before you order

SPC stands for stone polymer composite, and it describes the core rather than the surface: a dense mineral-filled layer under the printed design and the clear wear layer. That core is what separates it from ordinary flexible vinyl.

A flexible plank follows the subfloor beneath it and shows every ridge and hollow. A rigid core does not flex the same way, which makes it more forgiving of a floor that is not perfectly flat — most of the older housing stock in Britain — and more stable as a room warms and cools.

The number to compare between ranges is the wear layer, not the core thickness. It is the clear film over the design, and it decides how long the pattern survives traffic. The same design is often sold in more than one wear layer at quite different prices.

Order a cut sample for £1.99 and see it in the room it is for, at the hour you actually use that room. How samples work.
